Wraparound Care
What is wraparound care?
Wraparound childcare is childcare that is provided at either end of the school day to support working families or those with other commitments. It can also refer to childcare provision within the school holidays. Wraparound childcare is not the same as attending an after-school club, although there may be some overlap in practical terms. After-school clubs have the primary purpose of providing additional educational and sporting opportunities in a more relaxed setting and beyond the usual subjects taught within the school curriculum. Wraparound childcare is primarily focussed on ensuring that your child is safe, happy and in an environment that they will enjoy before and after school
In the David Ross Education Trust we strive to ensure that all of our primary schools are able to provide wraparound childcare between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 on all days when the school is open. If we are unable to do this then we will ensure that we can share information on other local childcare providers that are also able to take your child to school and pick them up afterwards so that parents have seamless care between these hours. For on-site childcare, may be provided by the academy directly or by an external provider using the academy premises. In all cases there will be a charge for the childcare, although we strive to ensure that this is kept to a minimum and schools may not make a profit from providing such childcare.
Please note that where wraparound childcare is offered by a third party provider or we let you know of local wraparound childcare availability, this does not constitute an endorsement of the service provided. The academy does not benefit financially in any way from sharing information about wraparound childcare locally.
The specific wraparound childcare arrangements for this academy are as follows:
Before School Childcare
Oscar's Out of School Club provides wrap around care and is based in the school (term time only). They are registered with Ofsted and able to take up to 40 children per session.
The club offers many activities both inside and out, allowing the children freedom of choice in a supervised environment. All staff are DBS checked and have childcare training.
Oscars offer the following:
Breakfast Club - 7:45am-8:50am
Cost - £5
The children have a choice of breakfast items during the morning sessions.

After School Childcare
Oscar's Out of School Club provides wrap around care and is based in the school (term time only). They are registered with Ofsted and able to take up to 40 children per session.

After School Club - 3:30pm-5:50pm
Cost - £10
The children have a light snack with a drink during the after school session.

Holiday Childcare
We do not provide regular holiday care due to letting restrictions, our school building is managed by AMEY.
