DRET Hockey Workshop with Northampton Hockey Club

On Wednesday 29th January, the year 3 and 4 pupils at Cedar Road Primary School took part in an exciting DRET Sport Hockey Workshop. We were fortunate to welcome Nigel from Northampton Hockey Club, who kindly visited to lead the day and share his expertise with the children.

The day was packed with fun, dynamic activities, including hockey skills, games and drills that helped the children develop their technique and teamwork. The sessions were designed to be both educational and enjoyable, ensuring that every child had the opportunity to participate and learn.

The feedback from the pupils was very positive. One Year 3 student shared, “This was really fun, I can’t wait to play more hockey!” The workshop inspired many of our children to get more active and take a greater interest in hockey, with several expressing a desire to join the local club and continue practicing the skills they learned.

To celebrate their effort, enthusiasm, and dedication throughout the day, each participant was presented with a certificate of participation. It was a fantastic experience for all involved, and a big thank you goes to Nigel for making the day so memorable.

Well done to all the children for their enthusiasm and positive attitude, which made the workshop such a success! We look forward to seeing how many of our pupils continue to develop their hockey skills in the future.
