Food
Hot dinners can be ordered in advance or daily.
They cost £2.53 and the children are offered a healthy choice of food.
We try and encourage all children to eat a sensible balanced diet. Each day Caterlink delivers a range of healthy meals that are served in our hall. These include a hot meat and vegetarian option and a cold meat and vegetarian option every day.
In line with the government’s policy for Universal Infant Free School Meals, all our children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 receive a government funded school meal every day. Children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 can also order school meals at a cost of £2.53 per day. Alternatively, children can bring a healthy packed lunch into school if they prefer.
At Cedar Road Primary School, we use the My Child at School (MCAS) app for booking school meals. Meal choices must be made for every child having a hot meal, even children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 receiving Universal Free School Meals. Bookings on MCAS must be submitted by noon on a Tuesday for meal deliveries the following week. It is possible to book meals weekly, monthly or termly on MCAS.
You can access MCAS by downloading the app and inputting the email address that you have registered with the school. You set your own password.
Children going home for lunch should be back on school premises at 1.00pm for afternoon registration, but not before.
Lunch at Cedar Road Primary School is a communal experience in which the children can socialise and enjoy their meal.
